Ocean Raft Alaska Kicks Off 16th Season in Skagway

We’re gearing up for our 16th season running the Ocean Raft Wildlife Adventure in Skagway, Alaska, and we’re ready to get back on the water.

Spring in Skagway means one thing for us. Boats coming out of winter, gear getting checked,

and everything getting dialed in for another busy season of wildlife tours and high speed adventure on the water.

If you’re planning a visit to Skagway this summer and looking for a unique shore excursion, this is the time to start locking things in. We’re officially taking bookings now, and popular dates are already starting to fill.

A Skagway Tour Built Around Experience

Ocean Raft Alaska is a small, locally owned tour company based right in Skagway. We’ve spent the last 16 seasons building an experience that’s different from the typical large group tours.

This is a fast, small group wildlife tour on rigid inflatable boats that puts you right on the water. You’ll suit up in full Mustang survival gear and head out with experienced captains who know these waters.

Along the way, we regularly see whales, sea lions, seals, and bald eagles. Every trip is a little different depending on the day, which is part of what makes it so good.

Experienced Crew, Local Knowledge

One of the things we’re most excited about this season is the team. We’ve got a strong group of returning staff, including several year round Skagway residents.

That matters. It means experienced captains, smooth operations, and a crew that knows how to deliver a great experience for guests visiting Alaska.

Planning Your Skagway Excursion

Most of our guests are visiting on cruise ships, so everything we do is built around ship schedules and making sure you get back with time to spare.

The Ocean Raft Wildlife Adventure runs about 2 hours and is designed to fit easily into your day in port. If you’re comparing Skagway excursions, this is a very different option from bus tours or large boats. It’s faster, more personal, and a lot more hands on.
